15th National eLearning Conference 2021
This year’s Conference is unprecedented on so many levels. This is the first for PeLS to hold the conference in a VIRTUAL environment! The education sector had to speed up its adjustment to the new way of teaching and learning.
Policy makers, education professionals, school administrators, teachers, learners and parents had to come up with creative ways to cope up with the crisis as rapidly as possible. Hence this year, the conference aims to curate real life experiences, identify the best practices, celebrate successes and learn from shortcomings in order to fill in the gaps and come up with workable solutions. Today, after fourteen years, we’re proud to show our updated trademark which includes a new logo, colors, and font. You’ll see the change anywhere we’re out in public like our website, Facebook, other social media, and collaterals. We believe the new look better matches what we’ve become since 2003: serving as a venue for “Promoting research on the effective use of eLearning, Sharing of eLearning experiences, Developing standards of excellence, Promoting interoperability of eLearning systems, Encouraging collaboration in the development of substantive content, Cooperating with international eLearning groups, and Promoting public awareness and appreciation of the nature and uses of eLearning.”
By sticking to our mission - “PeLS exists to lead the development of eLearning competencies through education and training and to promote collaboration among eLearning practitioners”, we also convey our constant effort in doing better with the evolving society. Needless to say, it is now time for a change. Along with this, we commend the designer of our new logo.

The colors used in the logo represents the colors of the Philippine flag where the organization is based and founded.
The upper left component of the logo, a laptop and the internet of things shows the use of information and communications technology as a delivery tool or media to enhance learning, thus electronic learning was born.
The upper right component of the logo, a book which represents learning and while the pages of the book (happy people) illustrates collaboration among the different people and organization of both the academe and the industry sector in ensuring the progression of learning and eLearning in the Philippines.
The lower component of the logo, the rays of the sun (arrows) that represents promotion and advancement of eLearning to start in the three island groups (the three stars) of the Philippines and eventually to all members of ASEAN community and the rest of the world (represented by the circle encompassing the three components). Another reason why this component sits at the bottom of the two other components because it serves to remind its members that the very foundation why this society was form is – to promote and ensure the advancement of eLearning in the Philippines.
The text on the right indicates the name of the organization. (Font used Suissnord for PELS and AvantGarde Md BT for Philippine eLearning Society.)
Lastly, the logo is a purely vector-based graphic and has no bitmap component, this ensures that the logo will not pixelate or lose quality when resized. Furthermore the logo does not contain any special effect (i.e. shadow, emboss, creative transformation, etc).
